1. What is
LIVE?
LIVE is an original, montly production for families. It is
an upbeat environment where learning about faith and
character is fun and relevant! The shared experience will
enable families to continue to communicate, teach, and lead
throughout the week.
LIVE is also a great place for families to bring friends.
It is a very predictable, warm, fun and welcoming
environment they can appreciate.
2. Why
LIVE?
There are two main reasons we do LIVE every month. We
believe that what happens at home is more important than
what happens on Sundays. We also know that as a parent you
have a far greater and consistent influence on your child.
So we want to help you as a parent receive some help and
guidance in doing that. That is the focus of LIVE. A shared
family experience that gives you as a parent an easy
starting point and practical tools to discuss spiritual
issues and Biblical principles and stories with your child
every day.
3. What
happens during LIVE?
During LIVE families experience together various forms of
media such as drama, music, and video. All of these combine
together to help you family understand why the virtue of
the month is so vital to your life.
4. How long
is the LIVE?
LIVE is 45 minutes long. The production begins at 1:00pm on
the first Sunday of every month from Sept-May.
5. Where
does LIVE take place?
All LIVE productions take place in the auditorium of the
LFC building. This building is located immediately east of
the AT&T Executive Conference Center and Hotel at 1909
University Ave, Austin, TX, on the south edge of the UT
campus.
6. Who can
come to LIVE?
Everyone can come to LIVE. LIVE is geared toward
elementary-age children AND their parents. However, it is
very appropriate for children and parents of all ages. And
we aren't exclusive. You are welcome to join us, even if
you don't fit into one of these categories.
7. Can my
child come to LIVE without a parent?
LIVE is a No Drop-Off Zone – parents must attend with their
children, because LIVE is designed as a shared experience
for families. However, you are encouraged to invite your
friends - kids by themselves, or with their families.
8. What
types of lessons are taught in LIVE?
LIVE is virtue-driven. A specific virtue is highlighted
each month. The meaning of the virtue is taught through
examples from the Bible, through sketches from everyday
life, video, and music.
9. Are there
other LIVE resources available for our family?
A virtue pack will be available for purchase each month.
This resource pack is incredible and easy to use. It
includes discussion starters, bedtime stories,
encouragement cards, and an audio CD with music from the
program, stories for the kids, and parenting tips to help
instill the particular virtue in your family. Other music
CD's are also be available.
